Welcome to The Growing Patch
Hello! My name is Heather. I am the owner of The Growing Patch at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Dade City, FL. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement for Reading K-12. I have 18 years of teaching experience (Kindergarten and First Grade) and now I have been teaching classes at The Growing Patch for 3 years.
About Us
The Growing Patch is a warm and welcoming child learning center, dedicated to inspiring curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in young children. Located at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, our center provides engaging, hands-on educational experiences designed for children ages 18 months to 8 years — all alongside their caregivers.
Our Programs
We offer a variety of enrichment opportunities to support early learning and homeschool families, including:
Toddler Time – A joyful introduction to learning through stories, music, movement, and sensory play.
STEM Classes – Exciting science, technology, engineering, and math activities that spark critical thinking and discovery.
Homeschool Enrichment – Creative, structured classes that complement homeschool curriculums through hands-on projects and social interaction.
Holiday & Seasonal Specials – Themed classes celebrating special occasions with crafts, experiments, stories, and fun seasonal surprises.
Our Philosophy
At The Growing Patch, we believe that children learn best through play, exploration, and connection. Our classes are designed for children to attend with a caregiver, creating shared experiences that strengthen bonds and foster a lifelong love of learning.

March is full of hands-on learning, creativity, STEM fun, and a special Easter experience — and registration is officially open!

Sprout & Play (Ages 2–4)

Our playful toddler class designed for ages 2–4 focuses on movement, sensory exploration, early learning foundations, and meaningful caregiver connection. Each week includes music, hands-on exploration, themed activities, and simple fine motor skill development in a warm, welcoming environment.
NEW: Spring Creative Studio (Ages 5–8)
March 24 | 10:30–11:30
A fresh, hands-on art experience featuring open-ended, process-based creativity. Children will rotate through thoughtfully designed creative stations inspired by spring — encouraging imagination, problem-solving, and independent expression.
“Creepy Crawlies & Life Cycles” Explorers (Ages 5–8)
March 13 | 10:30–11:30
An exciting exploration of insects and life cycles! Students will investigate metamorphosis, habitats, and the fascinating world of bugs through engaging, hands-on learning.
St. Patrick’s Day STEM (Ages 5–8)
March 17 | 10:00–11:00
A festive engineering challenge day filled with problem-solving, teamwork, and themed STEM activities designed to stretch critical thinking skills while keeping things fun and interactive.
Growing Patch Easter Experience (Ages 3–8)
March 27 | 10:00–11:30
Please note: This is a 90-minute family workshop.
This special experience blends hands-on activities, collaborative learning, and a structured egg hunt in a meaningful, interactive setting. Designed as a family-centered workshop, this event allows caregivers and children to participate together for a memorable seasonal celebration.
